Biblical Counseling at CBC
Cornerstone Bible Church Counseling Ministry provides hundreds of hours of free Biblical counseling each year to those seeking God’s answers to the questions and problems in their lives. God’s Word gives us answers and hope!
Are there answers to my problems?
In today’s incredibly complex world, God’s practical counsel is desperately needed. There is tremendous hope in the fact that God has provided His Word, the Bible, to give answers to life’s problems and questions. God says that He has provided everything necessary for a person to know Him and to live in a way that pleases Him. God promises to help and bless those who obey His instructions in the Bible. Therefore, the one who seeks after and follows God’s answers for life can have great hope, contentment, and direction to handle all the pressures of life.
What kind of counseling is offered?
Counseling is made available to help with any problems you may be facing – marriage, parenting, addictions, disorders, fears, anger, grief, depression, anxiety, etc. Our counseling approach is based upon the truths of the Bible. Since God has fully provided His answers to all of life’s problems in the Bible, it is superior to any other source of counsel. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God’s wisdom to bear upon the difficulties you are facing.
Who are the counselors?
The counseling staff here at CBC consists of qualified individuals who are trained in Biblical counseling, through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). While not all of our counselors are certified with ACBC, all of our counselors are supervised by those with an ACBC certification. Our Counselors are NOT certified with the State of Washington.
What does counseling cost?
It is our desire that counseling be available to anyone who needs it. This is why CBC is committed to not charging for the counseling we offer. The only cost to consider will be for books and other required materials. (Usually an estimate of $25.) The counseling sessions themselves are provided at no additional cost.
What Should I Expect?
Counseling sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis with your counselor and occur Monday -Thursday from 9am-7pm and on Friday from 9am-3pm. Most counseling sessions last about an hour.
Since new habits will take time to develop, in most cases, we ask individuals to commit to regular counseling appointments for a period of 3 to 4 months.

What Will My Counselor Expect of Me?
Your counselor will expect at least four things from you:
- You will need to have a willingness to grow and change.
- You will need to attend each week’s counseling session.
- You will need to complete all of your Change and Growth Plan (homework assignment) between counseling sessions.
- You will need to attend one of our Sunday morning worship services every week for the duration of counseling.
Where Do I Begin?
You can begin by filling out the form below to schedule an Initial Counseling Appointment (ICA). An ICA is a 1-hour appointment where you will meet with one of our counselors. This is a time where you can share what's on your heart and let us know how we can help. It's also a time where the counselor will give hope and encouragement that only comes from the sufficiency of God's Word, the Bible. In addition, during this ICA, we will explain what Biblical Counseling is, and what it is not, plus answer any questions you may have.
